I was supposed to write about yesterday's rally but then decided not to. I also took pictures of what I thought would be a turning point in Philippine politics. It turned out to be a dud.
Paseo de Roxas yesterday reminded me of Baclaran and how chaotic it was. I can't put my finger on who amongst those present were really there for the rally. Makati police estimated the crowd at 15,000-18,000. Independent sources estimated the crowd at 25,000. The Opposition (led by the Makati Mayor) put the crowd at 80,000. Come on! I work right across the street where the rally was held, and duh! 80,000? Were you even there Mr. Mayor?
Enough of the politics! As they say in the vernacular, "Pare-pareho lang kayo!" (You are all crooks!) Yesterday's rally looked like a national convention of past and future crooks. Too bad the president can't attend.
